Blackboard Mobile How-to's
Please tell your students that Bb Mobile does not work for all tasks and assignments ESPECIALLY tests. Best to use Bb Mobile as a way to disseminate due dates and announcements. You can now use Bb Mobile with Voice activation so you can say what you want the announcement to read or a response to a discussion board ! Here is a draft disclaimer to put into your syllabus or online course space. Blackboard Mobile is an application which can be used on your smartphone or tablet to access Blackboard remotely. Blackboard Learn SLN Workshops with Videos: a collection of short videos that are specific to the topics covered in the SLN training. The short videos are a combination of Blackboard videos, self created, and collected from other institutions on YouTube. 1. What is Blackboard? Blackboard is a course management system that allows for dynamic learning to occur in the online environment. The tools provided by the Blackboard software allow students and faculty to post and share documents and other course content, 24/7 access to grades, write via email and posted discussion boards, and even have synchronous, or real-time conversations in a virtual classroom. 2. What types of training are available for Bb Learn? There are self-paced courses available in Blackboard, YouTube videos developed by Blackboard, weekly drop-in sessions at the Instructional Design Office as well as a full day training session that will be in January 2016 before classes start. 3. Is training for Bb Learn mandatory? No. However, training is strongly encouraged to ensure course functionality and the optimal viewing of course content on all devices, including mobile.
